About Clio, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

The City of Clio is located in eastern Michigan approximately 13 miles north of Flint. The area was first settled in 1837 and is part of Genesee County. Originally called Varney, the current name was given in 1866. Approximately 2,700 people call Clio home, and one of the most noteworthy recent events in community history was its participation in the Blueprints for Downtowns program. Clio has used this program to develop a more comprehensive downtown area to help with the community’s economic growth. Efforts are currently ongoing.

Clio is home to many businesses that support the needs of local residents. There are several unique restaurants located here, including the Whistle Stop Café, China Moon, and O’Graydee’s Restaurant. Specialty shops in the area include Gotta Have It Consignments, Bits and Pieces Jewelers, and Club Vintage Fashions & More. Horseback riding tours are also available at Rusler Jane Riding Stable.

There are plenty of nearby attractions available to Clio residents, as well. Birch Run is home to the popular Birch Run Premium Outlets and the Wilderness Trail Zoo. Residents who want to travel a bit further into Flit might like to stop at the Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad.

Clio is part of a humid continental climate zone. The weather is influenced by the Great Lakes, leading to cold winters with moderate snowfall. Each year, Clio and the surrounding region receive about 48 inches of total snowfall, and when combined with cold temperatures, conditions can quickly escalate to dangerous. Residents need to invest in a reliable gas or electric furnace to ensure their comfort and safety throughout the season.

During the summer season, weather conditions are dramatically different. High temperatures only reach about 82 degrees Fahrenheit in July, but humidity levels can make it feel warmer. Many residents invest in central air conditioning units, which are quieter and more reliable than window-mounted units. Clio area HVAC technicians can help residents to select the right system for their homes.
